Clear Demand Markdown Pricing helps retailers “set guardrails” for margin, sell-through, markdown budget, and competitive price index across channels and yet achieve department and category objectives. The solution is designed with the flexibility and scalability necessary to implement and manage granular markdown programs across all lifecycle phases: Introduction, In-season and Clearance. Store-SKU elasticity is modeled over the lifecycle in order to provide a more granular “localized” strategy for the timing and depth of markdowns across category, department, store, store cluster, banner or chain. Integrated Markdown Budgeting is used to apply a global markdown budget constraint which aggregates budget targets for everyday permanent markdowns, discontinued items and point-of-sale (POS) markdowns as needed daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly.
